You might be wondering, “Why film?”

First, there’s a certain precision needed in film photography. There are usually 36 frames available in a film roll. This means that as a photographer, I am tasked to make the most of every shot. I must be aware of the details, composition, and framing with every picture I take. And this precision is the key to film’s craftsmanship. Every shot is invaluable.

Next, film presents an authentic composition because it cannot be edited. What you see is what you get. This authenticity supersedes an aesthetic. Rather, It’s the essence of film. When looking at the tone, coloring and lighting   of film, one can’t help but see a story. Film presents a trueness that can’t easily be replicated. The cliché holds up, “a picture is worth a thousand words.” But even more so the authenticity of film is worth 10,000 words.

The beauty of film photography is that it isn’t a fad that’s been revived in an attempt to achieve a “vintage” aesthetic. It’s a timeless style with sentimental value.

Film photography is generational. It’s the joy you feel looking at photos of your grandparents when they were young and in love. It’s the laughter evoked after seeing your parents in their awkward teenage years. And all these memories are shared through photo albums that cause people to come together and reminisce.

Film gathers. It unites people to remember. And these moments are truly priceless.

These are the experiences El Creative Co wants to give you, an investment into a lifetime of nostalgia for you and your loved ones.

Film is precise. Film is authentic. Film is generational. Film gathers. Film reminisces. Film tells a story.
